We stopped doing this years ago because individual cables take up too much space in the tray & labor costs with individual fibers are astronomical. We use MTP/MPO cables and use cassettes on either end. Easier to install, label and troubleshoot. Up to 288 fibers in one small cable is amazing. Even with the increase in parts costs it’s less money for us overall because of the labor savings.

If you could get the light to flicker, your eye would be drawn to it much more easily.

I just use my multimeter and do a continuity test

With the more powerful VFLs you'll even be able to see the red light through the yellow cladding.

Cables of all sorts should be labeled before installation with the source and target on each end.

Usually, VFLs have a blink setting - that helps a lot.

the tool is called a VFL(Visual Fault Locator) it's good for finding breaks and when the labeling is sub optimal.
